Don't Mess with the Message (2 Timothy 1:13-14)

Sunday, April 11, 2021 •

Timothy was under pressure to compromise his message due to Roman persecution and the corrupting influence of pagan teachers. Paul issued two commands to his protegee with motivational resources for the fulfillment of both. These commands are as pertinent now as they were then.

Easter 2021 (2 Timothy 2:16-18)

Sunday, April 4, 2021 • Pastor Joe

We pause our study of 2 Timothy to consider a few verses from the letter of great relevance to Easter (a.k.a. Resurrection Sunday). Some were preaching a heresy that was upsetting the faith of some in Ephesus.

Ashamed of Suffering? (2 Timothy 1:8-12)

Sunday, March 28, 2021 •

Timothy was discouraged. His timidity could potentially cause him to shrink back from the prospect of suffering for the sake of the Gospel. He might also shrink back from his association with his mentor, Paul, who was now a Roman prisoner. What message would the Apostle give his protegee?

Fanning the Flame (2 Timothy 1:1-7)

Sunday, March 21, 2021 •

Today we begin a new study of what many believe is the Apostle Paul's final epistle. Written in the Fall of 67 A.D. from a Roman prison, Paul sought to encourage his protegee, Timothy, who was faltering under tremendous pressure. But could he be encouraged?

24-Hour Power, Part 2 (Psalm 4)

Sunday, March 14, 2021 •

The Psalms were Israel's inspired hymnal. We don't know the tunes to which they were sung, but like any worship song, the words are the most important feature. Psalm 3 and Psalm 4 together comprise a morning and evening prayer in David's flight from Absalom (2 Sam. 15-18).

Ezra's Serenity Prayer (8:1-36)

Sunday, February 14, 2021 •

Ezra prepared to lead a second group of Babylonian exiles to Jerusalem. The 4-month journey would be extremely challenging. How much of the success depended upon him and how much depended on God?

Becoming the Leader God is Pleased to Use (Ezra 7:1-28)

Sunday, February 7, 2021 •

Sixty (60) years have passed since the events of chapter 6. As we start chapter 7, readers finally get introduced to the man whose name is attached to this book. But who is Ezra and why is God pleased to use him in leadership? Would God be pleased to use us?

The CERTAIN Object of Our Trust in UNCERTAIN Times (Psalm 146)

Sunday, January 31, 2021 •

Uncertainty defines a new year. Challenges domestic and foreign threaten our future way of life. How can we NOT be anxious? The Psalms were Israel's inspired hymnal. We don't know the tunes to which they were sung or the instruments used for their accompaniment. But like any worship song, it's the words that are most important.

I Will Testify (Psalm 117)

Sunday, December 27, 2020 •

Even in a pandemic, God's faithfulness and eternal truth is reason enough for His people to praise Him. Psalm 117 is the shortest psalm in the Psalter, the shortest chapter in our Bible, and the middle chapter in the Bible. It was used during the three great Festivals in Israel; Passover, Pentecost, and Tabernacles.
